Good to know
  • Styled text is made of special characters. It pastes into LinkedIn as it looks here, but it is not searchable and some screen readers read it badly. Use it for emphasis, not whole posts.
  • LinkedIn sometimes removes empty lines when you paste. “Keep blank lines” puts one invisible character on each empty line so your spacing survives. Turn it off if you would rather copy the text exactly as typed.
  • A web address in your post shows a link card in the preview, as LinkedIn does. LekhKit cannot load other sites, so it shows the domain; LinkedIn fills in the real title and picture.
  • Attachments and mentions are preview only. Copying carries text, so add media and tag people inside LinkedIn.
  • The counter counts each styled letter as 2 characters to stay on the safe side. LinkedIn’s own count may differ.

How to format a LinkedIn post

  1. Write or paste your post in the editor. Select a word or a line.
  2. Pick a style: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, a list or an emoji.
  3. Check the desktop and mobile preview, then press Copy post and paste it into LinkedIn.

Frequently asked questions

Why does LinkedIn not have a bold button?

The LinkedIn post box accepts plain text only. LekhKit swaps your letters for look-alike characters from the Unicode standard, which paste into a post like any other text.

Is LekhKit free?

Yes. There are no accounts, no ads and no limits on how much you format.

Is my text saved or uploaded?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your draft is kept only on your own device so you can come back to it.

Does the formatting work in comments, messages and my headline?

Yes. The result is plain text, so you can paste it anywhere LinkedIn takes text.

Is it bad for accessibility or search?

Styled characters can be read oddly by some screen readers and may not match searches. Use them for a few words and keep key information in plain text.
