LinkedIn Strikethrough Text Generator

Strikethrough lets you show a correction, a changed plan or a joke without deleting the original words. Type below and copy the crossed-out text.

Select text, then pick a style. Nothing is selected? The word at your cursor is styled.

Good to know
  • Styled text is made of special characters. It pastes into LinkedIn as it looks here, but it is not searchable and some screen readers read it badly. Use it for emphasis, not whole posts.
  • LinkedIn sometimes removes empty lines when you paste. “Keep blank lines” puts one invisible character on each empty line so your spacing survives. Turn it off if you would rather copy the text exactly as typed.
  • A web address in your post shows a link card in the preview, as LinkedIn does. LekhKit cannot load other sites, so it shows the domain; LinkedIn fills in the real title and picture.
  • Attachments and mentions are preview only. Copying carries text, so add media and tag people inside LinkedIn.
  • The counter counts each styled letter as 2 characters to stay on the safe side. LinkedIn’s own count may differ.

How to strike through text on LinkedIn

  2. Copy the crossed-out version.

What people use it for

How it works

Strikethrough here uses a combining character: a small stroke that sits over each letter. Because it is attached to normal text, the words stay readable and searchable in most places.

The line may look slightly different between Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android because each draws the character with its own font. LekhKit uses the stroke that sits in the middle of the letters on the most common fonts.

Frequently asked questions

Will the line show on every device?

On current phones and computers, yes. The thickness and height of the line can vary a little by font.

Can I undo it?

In the LekhKit editor you can toggle strikethrough off again, or clear all formatting in one click.

Is it free to use?

Yes. No sign-up, no ads, and the text is processed in your browser.
