LinkedIn Bold Text Generator

LinkedIn has no bold button in the post box. This free generator turns your words into bold characters you can paste straight into a post, a comment or your headline.

Select text, then pick a style. Nothing is selected? The word at your cursor is styled.

Good to know
  • Styled text is made of special characters. It pastes into LinkedIn as it looks here, but it is not searchable and some screen readers read it badly. Use it for emphasis, not whole posts.
  • LinkedIn sometimes removes empty lines when you paste. “Keep blank lines” puts one invisible character on each empty line so your spacing survives. Turn it off if you would rather copy the text exactly as typed.
  • A web address in your post shows a link card in the preview, as LinkedIn does. LekhKit cannot load other sites, so it shows the domain; LinkedIn fills in the real title and picture.
  • Attachments and mentions are preview only. Copying carries text, so add media and tag people inside LinkedIn.
  • The counter counts each styled letter as 2 characters to stay on the safe side. LinkedIn’s own count may differ.

How to make bold text on LinkedIn

  1. Type or paste your words into the box above.
  2. Copy the bold result.
  3. Paste it into your LinkedIn post, comment, headline or About section.

Why LinkedIn posts have no bold button

The LinkedIn post editor only accepts plain text. Bold, italic and underline are not part of it, so tools like this one use a different trick: Unicode has whole sets of letters that are drawn in a bold style, and they paste anywhere plain text is allowed.

To LinkedIn these are ordinary characters, which is why the styling survives posting. It is not formatting in the word-processor sense, so it will not carry over if someone copies your post into a document that swaps fonts.

Frequently asked questions

Does bold text work in LinkedIn comments and messages?

Yes. Because the characters are plain text, they paste into comments, messages, your headline and your About section as well as posts.

Is it free?

Yes. LekhKit is free, has no accounts and no ads.

Is my text saved anywhere?

No. The conversion happens in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded.

Will it look the same on every phone?

Almost always. Modern phones and computers include fonts for these characters. Very old devices may show empty boxes.
